چکیده
The research investigates water drainage systems and identifying the flooding area in Al-Kharj, which is confluence of valleys Hanifa, Al-Sulay, Al-Hannaya, Nasah, Al-Haytham, Al-Aqimi, then Al-Sahba, with a total 111,491km2, may cause risks on natural human environment whether through accumulation stagnation Low-lying areas resulting environmental hazards, or as result their inundation urban areas, causing destructive effects lives property. The methodology based analyzing affecting city product by many steps multiple inputs that include elements stage before surface runoff occurred during runoff, where collecting largest number each Methods evaluation it, counted analyzed them to create topographical hydrologic model expected rain condition at different recurring times, especially 100 years. morphological analysis basins, comparing results outputs (DEM), tracking paths topographic maps, satellite visuals, field study revealed there mismatch between due interruption flow, either for reasons, it actually affects only 8 basins an 16266.7km2, Hanifa basin consider most nourished volume 124.6million m3 discharge rate 756.4m3/s.

Remote sensing in hydrological sciences
Space age, and with it the era of earth observation, is generally considered to have begun more than 50 years ago with the launch of Sputnik-1 on 4 October 1957 (Kramer, 2002). Sputnik’s beeping radio signals did not only serve to demonstrate the technological capabilities of the Soviet Union, they were also used to gather information about the electron density of the ionosphere. In legacy of S...
متن کاملAnalyzing the Spatial Pattern of Drought in Central and South Zagros Using Remote Sensing Indicators
Introduction: As a complex phenomenon occurring due to a long period of poor precipitation, drought causes water scarcity in the soil and the hydrological system via hydrological, bringing about long-term consequences which may lead to severe economic, environmental, and social problems worldwide. Droughts are classified into four types: meteorological (rainfall), agricultural (soil’s moisture)...
متن کاملRemote Sensing Techniques to Assess Water Quality
Remote sensing techniques can be used to monitor water quality parameters (i.e., suspended sediments (turbidity), chlorophyll, and temperature). Optical and thermal sensors on boats, aircraft, and satellites provide both spatial and temporal information needed to monitor changes in water quality parameters for developing management practices to improve water quality. Recent and planned launches...
متن کاملInland wetlands mapping and vulnerability assessment using an integrated geographic information system and remote sensing techniques
The understanding of inland wetlands’ distribution and their level of vulnerability is important to enhance management and conservation efforts. The aim of the study was to map inland wetlands and assess their distribution pattern and vulnerability to natural and human disturbances such as climate change (temperature increase) and human activities by the year 2080. Inland wetland types i.e. for...
متن کاملRemote sensing applications in hydrological modelling
Previous studies have suggested that remotely sensed data should provide major benefits to hydrology and water resources and yet there are few case studies that show practical benefits. One of the reasons for this is the lack of tools to convert remotely sensed data to the type of information useful to water resource systems operators. Hydrological models can play an important role in this tran...
